The Billing Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, as well as streamlining effective billing processes across multiple markets. Responsible for monitoring revenues, keeping track of money owed by customers, preparing invoices and updating records. Generates revenue by making payment arrangements, collecting accounts, and monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts. 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Including, but not limited to:) 
  • Develop, maintain and monitor all billing procedures per specific funding source.  
  • Follow up on all receivable balances.  
  • Monitor write-offs with the objective of minimizing losses.  
  • Prepare monthly billing reports for Director of Billing  
  • Coordinate with Accounting on accounts receivable.  
  • Ensure that payment received for all services is allocated properly.  
  • Actively pursue all non-payments identifying the cause and providing a corrective solution.  
  • Prepare and deliver all reports as directed. 
  • Oversee and streamline billing and collections processes. 
  • Month-end closing of the billing group information. 
  • Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes. 
  • Special program/billing planning and implementation. 
  • Perform problem escalation and customer service. 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.  
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Experience working with billing and document tracking electronic applications.  
  • Collections experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Strong Excel skills. 
  • OSP Engineering experience is a plus. 
  • Billing (AR/AP) experience is a plus. 
  • Deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy. 
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimal direction. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.      
  • Ability to be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow
